Incompetency at its best…
I have to give credit to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch for the quotes in this ranting. Even the Post, which traditionally likes to talk about the positive things when it comes to the Rams, can’t avoid ripping Martz after the embarrassing game yesterday. Anyway, back to the point….
Quote from the Post-Dispatch:"For his part, coach Mike Martz was puzzled by the fact that Jackson was doing the tossing on the trick play instead of Marshall Faulk.
"Marshall always does it, and Marshall wasn't in the game," Martz said. "And that's an issue for me. We've always practiced it with Marshall. And he's supposed to be in the game at that time, so there was some confusion. ... That's a coaching deal all the way."
When asked why he wasn't in the game for the reverse pitch, Faulk said, "I don't know."
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? For the second time in his illustrious career, Martz has admitted he had no idea who was on the field. Well in such a critical juncture of the game don’t you think you would make damn sure you knew who was in the game? Not only that but wouldn’t you make sure you knew who was making the critical pitch? I sure think I would. Then again, I am not Mike Flipping Martz. The play by play guys mentioned it yesterday and I will say it again. We got OUT COACHED! It wasn’t an issue of player performance or lucky breaks or bad calls going against us. We were out coached. The game was lost on the sidelines. “So there was some confusion…” I bet there was. Confusion has become a way of life under this idiot. If you don’t think Martz should be fired, I don’t want to hear you bemoaning the fact that the Rams will be lucky to finish with a winning record and wont even be able to sniff the playoffs…
