So, I’m sure most of you thought that Mr. Martz entering the hospital shortly after this blog started picking up steam was a fluke. I mean surely I didn’t hate Mike THAT much right? Well to be perfectly honest I did. But, I never really knew whether I (and more importantly this site) played a roll in coach’s demise. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had my suspicions. I mean, there’s a reason I haven’t resurrected this site now that “the Genious” is in Detroit. I just don’t have time for all the legal mumbo jumbo that would surely ensue if I killed the guy via a blog.

Anyway, as I said, up until this point I haven’t ever been SURE that a blog could actually affect sports. Well today I got my confirmation. And better yet, apparently I’m not the only one with these powers. No, seriously! Just look at the Sports Guy’s latest blog post!

See? Now sure, he only slightly injured a couple of players and I put a head coach (I use the term loosely) into the hospital with heart problems, but we won’t hold that against the SportsGuy (SG from here on out). I’ve got to say, it’s nice to be in such good company. It’s quite an elite club it seems. I wonder if I’ll have to go to meetings or pay dues or anything…

Anyway I’ve officially offered my services to SG should he need someone with a little more… experience shall we say, in this area. I know Doc Rivers will be fired at the end of this season but I strongly suspect that SG would like to see Danny Ainge go the way of Martz as well…. call it a hunch. Anyway I’ll keep you all updated should the Sports Guy actually respond.

Are you Ready for Some FOOTBALL?

Ok, I know Martz is in Detroit now. But I still want to blog about the Rams (and ocassionally the football Cardinals). So I’m going to continue on with the MuckFartz Blog!

Let me just start out with a few observations… WE RAN THE BALL! Thats right folks. The first game under a new coach and Stephen Jackson gets 120+ rushing yards and we win. Who would have thought huh?

Oh, and Martz’ new offense? Put up a whopping 6 points. Good thing they ran Mooch off huh?

Also, Kurt Warner is still a stud. He threw for 300+ yards, 3 scores and NO Int. Thats right. None. So, all you Warner haters, get ready to eat your words. I’m predicting an MVP year for Warner and that the Rams are going to have some heavy competition from the birds out west (Seahawks and Cardinals).

Bruce is Back and there’s a Fan For Hire

Well, it looks like WR Isaac Bruce will be a Ram again next season. After cutting Bruce just a couple of days ago for salary cap reasons, the Rams have reportedly agreed to a deal with the veteran. Interesting to me was that Detroit was reportedly very interested in Bruce since Martz is now the O-coordinator there. Personally I think this reflects a bit on what Bruce thinks of Martz but you know nothing like that would ever get into the media. Bruce is too classy for that.

Anyway, I also have a new site up about St. Louis sports. Well mostly… the site FanForHire.com is dedicated to the rivalry between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Cubs. Being a die-hard Cards fan, I am offering to root for the Cubs… for a price. Yes, its a bit like selling your soul to the devil but as you can read here, just like the professional players these days (Johnny Damon etc) every fan has his price. Well, it appears that the spot on Channel 2 had a bit larger affect than I thought it would. I have been getting emails at a pretty steady pace and a few people are even wanting to sign the petition still. I havent quite figured out what to do with the site now. I think I am going to focus on the blog a bit more but I havent decided for sure yet. I would like to begin sharing with you guys a few of the funnier emails I’ve gotten. There are some classics…

Well, you got you wish you piece of crap! Now that Mike is gone, and you nit-picked all his callings, you should tell the Rams that you can be the next head coach. What! You can’t!? Why not? Thats right, you have NO FREEKIN’ EXP. on coaching! If you can’t take over the job, them maybe you should keep YOUR [edited] MOUTH SHUT! Maybe I will start a web site called firebencook.com! That way, YOU will get fired from YOUR job. How do you like that crap?

Louis, what games were you watching lately? You do know the year is not 2000 anymore right? Now our dear friend Louis is correct, I have no experience in football but hell, even I can figure out to run the ball every now and then. Dont get me wrong guys, I think Martz was an genious offensive coordinator… he just needed someone above him reigning him back in every now ant then. I think the rest of the email speaks for itself… I really wish I could be of some commfort to you Louis… I just dont have the expertise to treat your type of condition…

Oh, and just to be clear though, John Shaw… if you’re reading this… I would like to toss my hat in the ring for the job…

Well ok, not really but I and the site were seen tonight on Channel 2 News at 9. They asked what I thought about Martz getting fired (of course I was extatic) and where I would like to see the Rams go in the future (defensive minded coach). Apparently at least a few people saw it as I have been getting more comments in lately. One fan (NickH) wants me to start up a trade Marc Bulger site. Sorry, Nick, I think Bulger needs to hang around for a while and I can only assume you were drinking or joking when you said that you would like to see Martin as our QB. I am not real sure what I am going to be doing with the site now that Martz is officially gone… I guess we’ll wait and see…

Martz is medically cleared

Martz has been medically cleared to coach after the first of the year. I didnt even realize the Rams were still playing football… hmm I should look into that. As far as Martz is concerned though, it looks like the Rams are going to buy him out and Martz will go on his “genious” way off to destroy some other poor team. I am excited but dont want to hold my breath. If watching Martz’s Rams taught me anything, its that defeat can always be snatched from the jaws of victory. We will celebrate when it actually becomes official.

Lack of activity

Hey guys…
Sorry about the lack of recent activity. I had actually hoped this site was now part of history. Apparently not though… After the Rams nearly (and probably should have) lost to the Houston Texans, we find out today that Martz wants to coach again this year. NO! Did anyone notice how we had a timeout left at the end of the game to use to kick the tying field goal? I did. I liked it. I dont want Martz anywhere near this team. Not that they are going anywhere, I just want to be done with this business…

Anyway aside from that I have been spending most of my time on my new seo forum. SEO stands for search engine optimization which is basically the art of improving your organic rankings in search engines such as google, yahoo, and msn. Anyway, I started this seo forum to be a place where seo professionals as well as anyone interested in search engine optimization can go to discuss tactics, news, and anything at all SEO related. Well guys, if you like to see running backs bust some moves, you will want to watch this weekends’ Rams game. I fully expect Stephen Alexander to run a country mile (about 176 yards to be precise) on Sunday and our Stephen (Jackson) will probably have 100+ yards. As usually happens when the Rams and Seahawks play, it will be a high scoring game and I think the Vitt Rams will find a way to win.

179 yards!! We all knew it could be done… we all knew Jackson had it in him if Martz would just give him the ball 25 times in a game… well Martz didn’t but Vitt did. The Rams win was Ugly but hey, it was a win. Special teams helped us rather than hurt us, we gave up 160+ yards to a gimpy Fred Taylor but still won, and Martin didnt lose us the game so I’d say well done guys.. We are now a .500 team and to be honest, I think thats quite an accomplishment at this point. This is going to have be a short one but I will post more later.

“I’ve become a distraction”

On Monday Martz said “I have to divorce myself of this. It???s not fair to these people. I have become a distraction for them.???

On Tuesday Martz gives an interview, that appears in the national media on Wednesday (read my first entry from today for the whole story), in which he rips the team management and essentially draws a line in the sand between himself and the president of football operations. Tell me again, Mike, how this is divorcing yourself from the situation? How is this helping you be less of a distraction to the team? What you’ve done is continue to keep this story in the national press and at the forefront of people’s minds. I must admit, you’ve certainly gained a few supporters. You’ve somehow managed to portray yourself as a victim in all of this even though really, you’re the number one reason this situation exists. If this is you trying not to be a distraction… thanks but no thanks Mike.
